A computer is an electronic device that can store and manipulate information.

Computer system worked with the base of binary numbers system, 0 and 1, for storing data, calculation and displaying information.

Nowadays computers can comes variety of size and shapes.

Invention in (1822) but was not built until 1991.

RAM stands for Random Access memory. It is also called an integrated chip.

It’s a primary storage of your system and also called temporary storage or short-tem memory.

Computer performance has lot to do with RAM.

RAM hold the data of active/running application on system, once the application is closed, the data is lost.

It is volatile memory because, Accidently the power off your system ram can lose all the already hold data.

Random access memory has conjunction with CPU (central Processing unit).

RAM is responsible for processing data and communication with CPU.

Types of RAM

There are two main types of RAM:

SRAM

stands for Static random access memory. It consist four to six transistors.

SRAM is faster but more expensive.

DRAM

stands for Dynamic random access memory.  Mostly used as a computer’s main memory.

In dynamic RAM more than one transistor and a capacitor within an integrated chip.

This type of ram called refreshed RAM because (given a new electronic charge) every few milliseconds to retain data.

DRAM is less expensive compare to SRAM.

Subtype of DRAM is DDRSDRAM: stand for Double data rate synchronous Dynamic Random Access memory. Just like SDRAM. Only difference is higher bandwidth and maximum transfer rate to L2 cache.

CPU or Central Processing Unit is the main processing unit. It is BRAIN of computer.

CPU runs the OS (operating system) and applications, constantly receiving input from the user or active software programs.

processing unit contain circuit that perform various operations like arithmetic and logic Calculations from ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit), control the devices attached to the processor via Control Unit, has very high-speed memory called the cache memory. 

CPU processes the data and produces output, which may store by an application or displayed on the screen. It is a different type of architecture of processor like 32bit and 64bit with maximum speed and flexible capacity.

The various types of the processors, single-core, dual-core, Quad-core, Hexa core, Octa-core, and Deca core processor.

Single-core CPU

It is the oldest type of CPU used in personal and official computers. It is a microprocessor with a single core on a chip. Single core CPU is running with a single thread at a time. It is not efficient in multitasking. When one process is in working other process is in queue till the one process is completed.

Dual-core CPU

CPU with two strong cores in one integrated chip.

It is designed for multitasking (run multiple program at same time) processing.

Dual core processor handles multiple applications for faster performance.

It’s speedy than a single core.

Quad-core CPU

It is a multiprocessor architecture that is designed to faster processing power.

This type of processor allows you to render video or play games (at lower resolutions) in addition to all your regular work or school tasks.

It’s called a quad core because a four core on a single CPU. Also this is a similar to dual core CPU. Most gamers will be fine here as long as you are not playing the most processor-intensive games and you have a dedicated GPU.

Hexa-core CPU

It’s a six core processor. Hexa core work is rapidly than quad-core processor. Mostly uses and popular Hexa-core processor is AMD Phenom II X6 which operate at speeds assorted from 2.6 to 3.8 GHz.

Octa-core CPU

As the name suggests, the Octa-core processor is made up of eight processor cores.Best octa-core processor from AMD Ryzen 7 3800x Desktop processor with 8 core and 16 threads. It has less power consumption than other processors and also this is an efficient than other.

SSD OR HDD

Solid State Drive and Hard Disk Drive widely used in secondary storage device.

A hard disk drive store data on series of spinning magnetic disks called platter.

HDD has a several arm with several head that read and write data on the disk.

The arm moves the head across the surface of the disk to access different type of data. HDD store data like personal files, Multimedia files or Business files and many more as you want.

SSD store data in flash based memory or integrated circuit.

It is very fast compare to the HDD. It’s a flexible for smaller device. SSD optimized for better performance.

It’s replace the hard-disk drive, because hard-disk store data into the spinning disk form of magnetically, very much time to read and write data compare to the solid state drive.

GPU (Graphic Processing Unit)

GPU also called a video card or graphic card.

Graphic units are independently working from the CPU and responsible for graphic manipulation.

CPU and GPU both are silicon-based microprocessor and both handle data. But both are different architecture and are built for different purposes.

Graphics card is used for high-quality gaming experiences. GPU focus on rendering and it is boost the frame rate. More than one business software’s depend on powerful graphics card.

You can work on AutoCAD software you can required a recommended graphics card for 3D rendering. Because the users can make changes on some graphics so very quickly render because time is precious. Without graphic card not work very well.

Video editing is another common use-case; while some powerful CPUs can handle basic video editing, but you are editing a larger resolution video editing, you can require a high-end GPU for optimal editing.

Desktop computer

Desktop Computer has two major part cabinet (also called CPU) and monitor (called a display).

This type of computer you cannot easily moved from one place to another place.

Desktop computer are low price compare to the laptops but you can assemble a custom system with high configuration increase the base price.

It may Desktop computer is a very powerful then laptops because an assemble computers is very high-speed performance in any software operations like Graphic design, Editing and Gaming etc.

Laptop computer

A laptop computer has same components but integrated into the single, portable unit. Laptop components are small as compared to desktop computer and also more advanced. This reason increases the laptop prices. Laptop is little bit more expensive in price then computers.

Laptops consume a less space at your location and very easy to travel with your laptop you can put it in your bag and take it wherever you go.
